The Situation
Vice President in senior leadership. Office days, weekly Padel, and a big professional transition coming in January, a new job, a new chapter. But the energy that was supposed to carry him into it had been draining for months.
At 51, turning 52, Pedro wanted to show up to the next phase of his career as himself: energetic, confident, with the fire that people had always known him for.
His relationship with food had always been complicated. A gluten intolerance discovered four years earlier created cycles: strict phases followed by phases where he went all in, and the weight came back with it. Cheese, good food, good wine. He loved it all. He just needed a structure that could live alongside it.
The Problem
There was no single bad day. It was every day, quietly accumulating.
'There wasn't a specific trigger. It was just feeling every single day like it's not like this. It's never been like that. You feel that one month, and another month. You try this, you try that. And you're still in the same position.'
When he reached out on LinkedIn, it clicked immediately. He started just before Christmas, when everyone told him to wait.
The Result
We didn't overhaul his life. We built sustainable habits into the one he already had, one at a time, naturally, in a way he could keep forever.
4 months later
10 kg gone. The belly shrinking. Padel sessions where he actually flew through the game instead of surviving it.
He went skiing in January and felt the difference, present, light, flying down slopes alongside his wife instead of counting down to the end of the day.
But the number wasn't the achievement.
In a job interview, the person across the table said: 'I can feel the fire in you.' That was what he had come for.
"The real achievement is not the 10 kg. The real achievement is: I'm back. I feel the fire inside. It's not a six-month thing. It's a forever thing."
